The PDS RAFT Suture has a #2 PDS (Polydioxanone) absorbable thread mounted on a curved 35cm long stainless-steel needle with long blade-like cutting edges on both ends. The PDS thread is swaged close to one of the cutting edges of the RAFT Needle. The RAFT suture is used in various surgical procedures to insert a purse-string recruitment stitch.
